Though her sister Jessica Simpson is very much pregnant and ready to become a mom, Ashlee Simpson had no worries she’s miss the birth when attending an event in Australia recently. According to UsMagazine.com, Simpson brushed off concerns, saying, “I have plenty of time and I’m going home [today] so it will be fine.” Jessica Simpson was heard saying that she still had “a month to go” so Ashlee will definitely be in attendance at the birth of her sister’s first child.
How do you decide who you want with you when you give birth?
In recent years, the divorce rate in America has hovered around 50 percent, and in Hollywood, this statistic appears to be closer to 70 percent.
For some celebrity couples, rushing into a serious relationship or even marriage is no big deal; they can always break up or file for an annulment or divorce, knowing that their family, friends and fans will stand behind them. They are not held accountable by their vows, viewing any “easy way out” as an acceptable solution.
But why do so many Tinseltown twosomes approach romance with such a wavering attitude, in such fleeting terms? Here are just a few reasons why some celebrity relationships change with the seasons:

Jessica Simpson is making the most of the time before her due date. Simpson, 31, attended her star-studded baby shower on Sunday, reports UsMagazine.com. Her sister, Ashlee Simpson, and old friends like Odette Annable and Jessica Alba attended the Los Angeles bash. “It was a kid friendly shower with many of her friends bringing babies,” said a source. “Jessica [Alba] brought her baby Haven, 7 months, and Ashlee brought Bronx, 3.” Earlier this month Simpson and fiancé Eric Johnson told ELLE Magazine that they are expecting a girl.

When it comes to upcoming trends, we can guarantee that the hottest engaged celebrity couples will be showcasing the latest and greatest. In fact, we had so much fun pairing the most talked about celebrity brides-to-be with the wedding styles that everyone is talking about! Here’s our forecast for what we think we will see in 2012!
Anne Hathaway: When we think of Anne Hathaway, we think of vintage elegance. Between her classic fashion style and the grace she exudes each time she walks out of her door, we believe that a Vintage Elegance wedding is what fits her best. Although her wedding will be in NYC, this very popular style can be scaled up and used in any setting from penthouse rooftops to grand hotel ballrooms.
Jessica Simpson: Very Southern and hand done outdoor weddings are huge right now and are not going away any time soon. One of the things we love about Jessica Simpson is that she is authentic, and this is the type of wedding we can see her having this time around … very intimate, Southern and hands on.
Britney Spears: Although this is not her first rodeo, we believe she has found the one this time! With two adorable boys, and the reputation of sometimes going against the grain (which isn’t so bad sometimes when an electric razor isn’t involved), we can’t imagine Ms. Spears in a traditional white dress. This is why we are pairing her in a colored Vera Wang dress, which is one of 2012’s hottest trends.
Jessica Biel: Luxe Weddings are all the rage right now, and if you go to any Canadian wedding source (Canada is always a step ahead when it comes to wedding trends), you will see what we mean. Who better to have one than Jessica Biel? We envision her wedding very luxe with champagne and gold trims, acanthus leaves and lots of layered texture. We can see her and Justin Timberlake with this fabulous Luxe cake from The Cake Opera Co. Love this!

There are some things in life that go together like peanut butter and jelly or a refreshing glass of lemonade on a hot summer day. Some of our favorite celebrity couples compliment each other in the same way. Although many of our most loved duos have split and moved on, there’s no shame in wishing they would reunite. Think way back to Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake; they always seemed like the perfect couple on “The Mickey Mouse Club.” What would life be like if all of our favorite Hollywood couples got back together? Here are a few Tinseltown twosomes we would love to see re-spark their old flames:

Fashion Star mentor Nicole Richie has some motherhood advice for her new coworker. The Winter Kate designer, 30, offered Jessica Simpson a crash course in parenting, reports UsMagazine.com. “I offered for her to take my kids up until she has hers,” joked Richie. “That didn’t really work, but the offer still stands because she hasn’t had her kid yet. If she wants to take [daughter Harlow, 4, and son Sparrow, 2], go ahead. I will go to Cabo, no problem.”

If we’re being honest with ourselves, we know that a 2 million dollar engagement ring probably isn’t in our future. Although you may not be able to afford a multi-million dollar rock, you can still channel inspiration from celebrities to choose a quality, stylish ring for your upcoming engagement. Your personal taste and style mixed with the splendor of celebrity rings will result in the perfect look for you. Here are some styles to consider:
You can never go wrong with classic engagement rings. The timeless beauty of a studded band like Carrie Underwood’s or a simple set of diamonds will always do the trick. Underwood’s ring combines the style of a wedding ring with the sparkle of an engagement ring and makes for a pretty amazing result! Standard rings with diamonds in the center of a plain band never fail to draw “oohs and aahs” from family and friends.

One more Hollywood divorce has entered the official records. Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries’ fairy tale marriage lasted less than three months. Say what you will, but I think that this whole mess could have been avoided if they made their relationship more private. When you live your life so publicly, I’m sure that it’s difficult to separate reality … from reality TV. Even so, it seems that many stars have been swept away with the ratings, only to realize that they aren’t as perfectly matched as they originally thought.
Why don’t we start at the beginning of the end? Here are seven former celebrity duos whose relationships may or may not have dissolved as a result of being featured on reality TV:

After months of tabloid rumors about Jessica Simpson’s potential baby bump, she has finally confirmed that she is indeed pregnant with her first child. According to People, the new baby with fiance, Eric Johnson, wasn’t exactly planned, but wasn’t something they were trying avoid either. The singer/fashion designer and former NFL player are still completely committed to getting married, although it will now probably happen after the baby is born. “It’s just going to be at a later date now [because] they really want to enjoy this time in their lives,” said a source close to the couple.

Jessica Simpson’s protruding belly have proved the rumors to be true. Although Simpson has continuously denied pregnancy rumors until recently, she was spotted holding her stomach while walking with fiance, Eric Johnson. The couple were seen by RadarOnline in Beverly Hills happily holding hands. Johnson walked with his arm around Simpson and helped her into the car. Between planning a wedding and a new addition to the family, the two have a lot to look forward to in the future.

Singer gone fashion designer, Jessica Simpson, is in no hurry to walk down the aisle. According to UsMagazine.com, she has decided to postpone her wedding to former footballer Eric Johnson. This delay is due to the fact that Simpson can’t seem to decide what kind of a wedding she wants. One minute she’ll have her heart set on a big ceremony in Hawaii and the next she wants a small ceremony at home. Though it is rumored that the wedding delay may be a result of cold feet, this rumor has yet to be confirmed.

It seems like Jessica Simpson won’t be the only one heading down the aisle soon. RadarOnline reported that the singer’s best friend Cacee Cobb is engaged to her longtime boyfriend Donald Faison. The excited groom tweeted, “If you like it you better put a Ring on it. — Beyonce.” Cobb responded with, “If she likes it then she better say YES!!” Faison revealed his feelings for Cobb in an interview last November. “I’m sure I know in my heart I love her and I definitely want to be with her forever, but sometimes you throw marriage in situation and it ruins everything,” he told Vibe.com. Fortunately, he got over his fear and proposed to his girlfriend of nearly six years.

Dating double standard. Photo: piksel / Bigstock.com

Ever thrown a drink in a man’s face because he said something piggish? I have (and highly recommend it). However, while recently out to dinner with a male friend – let’s call him Master Key – I curbed my natural reflex and listened to what he had to say. As we cocktailed, our conversation turned to how many intimate partners were acceptable for men and women in this day and age. Master Key crudely summed it up as follows:
“It’s a key/lock situation. Well, a man is naturally the key. The woman is the lock. A key that opens many different locks is an amazing key. But a lock that is opened by many different keys isn’t worth anything at all.”
Cue my desire to give him a martini facial and poke his eyes out with the plastic olive skewer.
Yet despite my disgust for his sexist point of view, he has a point. While women have been tirelessly shattering glass ceilings and income bracket double standards professionally, there’s one area where the double standard seems to persist, and that’s in dating. Even as adult women, in the eyes of many men (and women, too), we’re still held to the binary categorization of “slut” or “nice girl.” So what’s a gal like you to do with this infuriating double standard? Take a cue from some of our celebrity friends and choose to own it, call it out, hide it or accept it.

We’ve all had a moment when we’ve stared wide eyed in utter shock at the TV screen after finding out our favorite celebrity couple has split, trying to figure out what went wrong. After all, this pair seemed to be in such a happy relationship!
There will always be famous duos that we think about months (or ever years!) down the line, wondering if they’ll ever reconcile. While the possibility may be a long shot, no one can help wishful thinking. With that said, here are five celebrity couples we would like to reunite:

There are few better ways to enjoy the Venice boardwalk scene than on a bicycle for two. Jessica Simpson and her fiancée Eric Johnson were seen over the weekend racing with friends and enjoying the area, according to Pink is the new Blog. Simpson said she’s working on slimming up for the big day. “I’m still trying to figure out what to wear,” she said. “I don’t know if I want the big boom, or the curvy thing, but it will be something beautiful. I kind of have a couple of ideas in my head, and I have a date; I’m really excited!” Other ways she plans to get in shape are to dance around in her bedroom and lift some weights.

Now that Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson are engaged, we may end up seeing them as husband and wife when we least expect it. According to People, Simpson says that her second wedding ceremony may be a bit more low key than her previous wedding to singer Nick Lachey. In a recent interview with Women’s Wear Daily, Simpson says, “We’ve both been married before, we’re enjoying our commitment to each other. We want to take our time … We might elope if it gets to that point.” So, don’t be too surprised if you see Simpson and Johnson sporting wedding rings without an elaborate ceremony.

Although it seems that Jessica Simpson has been more consistent with her gym regimen in anticipation of her wedding to Eric Johnson, Simpson denies the allegations, according to UsMagazine.com. “Yes, I am working out, but why is that worth any sorta press? I always take care of myself,” Simpson wrote on her Twitter page Thursday, adding, “Eric and I could get married right now in sweats!”

After dating for only six months, Jessica Simpson and former NFL player Eric Johnson announced their exciting decision to walk down the aisle together. The couple’s newest announcement? According to PopEater, they’re doing it without a prenup! This isn’t the first time Jessica Simpson will put on a wedding dress without signing the agreement. In her past divorce from Nick Lachey, who just days ago announced his engagement to Vanessa Minnillo, Jessica Simpson lost $10 million dollars for saying “I do” without a prenup. The singer’s father, though very happy for the two of them, does not want to see his daughter make the same mistake twice and plans on trying to change her mind when the excitement dies down. But for now, the couple is running on love!

Free agent NFL player Eric Johnson has officially proposed to Jessica Simpson. The good news is that she’s accepted, according to People. After being introduced by mutual friends in May, the pair started dating. Recently, they celebrated Jessica Simpson’s 30th birthday in romantic Italy. Fans can look for this athlete and singer/fashion designer combo at the upcoming Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. “I’m gonna be on a [Macy’s parade] float. It’s not always the best way to spend a Thanksgiving, but it’s a great way to celebrate. So, maybe I’ll just have all families on the float,” said Jessica Simpson.

It looks like Jessica Simpson and beau Eric Johnson have the seal of approval from Simpson’s brother-in-law, rocker Pete Wentz. According to People, Pete Wentz said, “He’s a really smart guy, and Jessica really loves him.” He explained, saying, “I think that’s the most important thing, seeing her happy.”
