One of the few successful couples from ABC’s Bachelor/Bachelorette franchise have canceled their wedding — but fortunately, not for good.  Former Bachelorette Ali Fedotowsky and the man she picked, Roberto Martinez, had to postpone saying “I do” because Fedotowsky is still recovering from  a femur injury.  “We had a date set, and that date has now passed,” the reality star, 26, told People.  “The decision to postpone [the wedding] was very difficult.  I definitely shed some tears. ” Fedotowsky underwent surgery in July and said that they decided to defer walking down the aisle until she could actually, well, walk.  “I don’t want to limp down the aisle,” she said.

Two talented Brits are ready to walk down the aisle … after only 5 months!  Carey Mulligan and her musician boyfriend, Marcus Mumford of Mumford & Sons, reconnected last winter after being childhood pen pals in London. Mulligan, 24, and Mumford, 26, started dating seriously after the actress attended a secret Mumford & Sons show in Nashville in February. The Oscar-nominated actress had split from Shia LaBeouf last October. A friend of the two tells UsMagazine.com, “They’re a great couple. Very sweet.”

Ashley Hebert looked forward to introducing Ben Flajnik and J.P. Rosenbaum, the final two contenders on The Bachelorette season 7, to her family. Her whole family loved Flajnik, but Rosenbaum didn’t have the same luck. In fact, her sister was especially disapproving of her relationship and love with the contestant. The Bachelorette star told People, “What bothered me the most was not that she didn’t approve but how aggressive and unsupportive she was. All I needed at this point was someone to be supportive of whatever I was feeling…and she wasn’t.” Although she was crushed by her sister’s reaction, Hebert decided to take her opinion with a grain of salt: “I used her uncertainty to make me ask the questions I was scared to ask but by no means did it change the way I felt about him.” Hebert followed her heart and recently celebrated her celebrity engagement with Rosenbaum.

One of Ashley Hebert’s final three suitors walked away during last week’s episode of The Bachelorette in Fiji.  Although it was clear that there was no spark between Constantine Tzortzis and Hebert, it was still shocking to find out that he wanted to call it quits.  The 30-year-old restaurant owner openly admitted to People in an exclusive Men Tell All taping that he wasn’t ready to get married to Herbert.  He said, “You either have a feeling or you don’t… My feelings were not strong enough at that point to justify sticking around and possibly going through with that next step of getting engaged.”  Tzortzis’ family fully supported his decision.

In Tuesday night’s finale of A&E’s reality show Gene Simmons Family Jewels, Simmons told Tweed, “You’re the only friend I’ve got. You’re the only one I love … and you’re the only one I ever will love” before proposing. An insider recently revealed to People that the proposal scene was shot “several months ago” and that the couple’s relationship has been on the rocks ever since. The rumors are rolling once again about Jesse James and Kat Von D, as they recently announced that they are calling off their wedding. This time it’s official.  Not only did they call off the engagement, but they’ve also broken up.  They were in a long distance relationship, with James in Austin and Von D in LA.  When People asked Von D whether she would relocate to be with her boyfriend, she responded, “If only it were that easy. Having two places we call home will be good for now. In the end, home is where the heart is, and my heart’s with him.  ” Unfortunately, the couple couldn’t keep doing the long distance thing.

Less than a week after  fiancée Crystal Harris called off her nuptials to Hugh Hefner, the scorned husband-to-be rebounded by publicly showcasing his new girlfriend— Shera Bechard, the November 2011 Playboy Playmate.  To me, that’s the definition of a true playboy, and it suits Hef perfectly. After all, he is the original founder of the Playboy brand.

When questioned by fans and hecklers about moving on so quickly, Hugh claimed that Shera is the remedy for his broken heart.  As a professional dating coach, one thing I know for sure is that the heart takes time to heal.  If Hefner was truly crushed by Harris leaving him, then he’s certainly in no position to have already moved on.  Whether you’re a man or a woman, a new love interest is not the antidote for heartbreak.  Finding someone else so quickly is not a healing strategy; it’s simply a rebound. In my opinion, the chances of things going well for Shera and Hugh are quite slim at best.

It looks like Nicole Scherzinger’s heart is racing!  Rumors started swirling that the couple was engaged after Nicole’s father spoke to the UK’s Mail Sunday. According to RadarOnline, Scherzinger’s father, Alfonso, said that Hamilton is “a really nice guy, real-down-to-earth. My family all like him. The good spirit is there,” which got misinterpreted as Alfonso announcing his daughters engagement but the rumor is false. The couple has been together for 4 years. Scherzinger, a former Pussycat Doll, will now be sitting alongside Paula Abdul, Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid on the judging panel for The X Factor premiering this September on FOX.

There was yet another reason to celebrate on July 4th, as Chris Tyrrell proposed to Hillary Scott during a romantic sunset on Independence Day.  “Chris proposed exactly the way I’ve always dreamed.  Our families were close by, but it was just us out on a beautiful deck overlooking a lake in East Tennessee,” the Lady Antebellum lead singer told People.  The proposal was romantic, yet casual, as it took place during a hike and the couple was wearing work-out attire.  Although the wedding date is not yet set, the couple looks forward to “forever together.”

After already having experienced a proposal and wedding with her previous husband John Kassir,  Dexter actress Julie Benz is ready to do it all over again.  Marketing executive boyfriend, Rich Orosco, gave her a grand engagement party on Sunday in their Los Angeles home backyard.  With a customized Kwiat cushion-cut diamond and platinum engagement ring, a Mexican-style surprise party and a Mariachi band, Orosco went all out for his Jaw Breaker fiancé–and she marveled in it all.  “What girl doesn’t want to be serenaded by a Mariachi band surrounded by close friends and family?” she said, according to People. She couldn’t get enough of the Mexican celebration.  ¡Felicitaciones Benz!

Another royal wedding is just around the corner.  Zara Phillips, Prince William’s cousin, is set to marry fiancé Mike Tindall on July 30th, reports People.  Tindall, a 32 year-old professional rugby player, told Mail on Sunday’s Live Magazine how he proposed.  “She was on the sofa, so that made it easier,” said Tindall.  “She was completely in shock and when she stopped laughing, she said, ‘Yes.’ ”  The couple confirmed they will not have a honeymoon, but say that their home life is plenty fun for the both of them.  “Saturday night, on the sofa with the dogs, watching X-Men.  That’s pretty much what our life is like,” said Tindall.  “Rock ‘n’ roll, baby.”

Kim Kardashian got engaged less than a month ago and is already being called a bridezilla — and the reality star’s over-the-top wedding registry might be partly to blame. UsMagazine.com reports that Kardashian and fiancé Kris Humphries registered at GEARYS in Beverly Hills, a premium seller of luxury jewelry and homeware. The couple’s registry included a laundry list of expensive items, including crystal napkin rings, a $175 mustard jar and $38,4000 worth of Torchon dinner place settings. The rocky relationship between The Bachelor’s Brad Womack and Emily Maynard may have finally reached an impasse.  People reports that last weekend, Maynard, 25, was spotted without the engagement ring Womack, 38, presented to her in the show’s finale.  The two released a statement in March, saying: “It has been a bumpy couple of months for us, and our priority right now is to focus on our relationship.”
