On December 28, 1976, Joe Manganiello was born in Pittsburgh and raised in the nearby suburb of Mount Lebanon, Pennsylvania. In school, he played varsity level football, basketball, and volleyball and was the captain of all three teams. During this time, he discovered his love of acting while making films with his friends and went on to study acting at Carnegie Mellon University. He eventually moved to Los Angeles and landed his first role in 2002 as Flash Thompson in Spiderman. Since then, he has had roles in series such as One Tree Hill, ER and How I Met Your Mother. His biggest roles have been as a male stripper in the blockbuster movie Magic Mike and the television drama True Blood as Alcide Herveaux.
During the 2009 Super Bowl, he met actress Audra Marie and the celebrity couple became engaged shortly after. However, they reportedly ended their celebrity relationship in the summer of 2011. Three years later, he began dating Modern Family actress Sofia Vergara and proposed to her during Christmas Eve of the same year after five months of dating. This famous couple tied the knot on November 22, 2015, in Palm Beach, Florida with a lavish celebrity wedding that lasted three days and reportedly cost $3 million. So far the couple has been very open about their celebrity marriage.
