From Britney Spears to Nicki Minaj, this year’s MTV Video Music Award (VMA) nominees are teeming with A-list music stars. The three top contenders include Katy Perry, with nine nods (the most of any performer this year), and Adele and Kanye West, both with seven nominations each. While it will be exciting to see which stars take home a trophy for their designated categories, we’re also eager to see which of our favorite celebrity couples will attend. Although we won’t know for sure who will show up to the VMAs until Sunday, Aug. 28, here are five celebrity couples we hope make an appearance:
1. Beyoncé Knowles and Jay-Z: Listed as the “most powerful couple” for TIME magazine’s “100 Most Influential People” in 2006, the duo dated for six years before secretly getting married in 2008. OK Magazine reported that “the couple is very supportive of one another — making sure to attend performances and appearances together.” That means we can definitely count on them to arrive together, since Beyoncé is up for a nomination, right?
It appears as if Justin Beiber is extending his talents outside of music and into the matchmaking industry. The 17-year-old singer has been trying to set up friend Kendall Jenner with his writer/producer buddy Julian Swirsky. Her response, “Only if you and Selena Gomez join us. Double date,” she tweeted Tuesday. However, Jenner may not have time to date. The Kardashian 15 year-old kid-sister will be the new face of Leah Madden’s summer 2012 swimwear campaign, Pirouette.

Summer’s arrival not only brings in warm weather, but also creates new relationships. New romance sparks — such as Hollywood’s hot couple, Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez, while other couples’ love for each other continues to grow. Since many relationships are emerging, here’s a list of this summer’s top five steamy celebrity couples who are hot as well as committed:
1. David Beckham and Victoria Beckham: The famous soccer player and his wife have been noted as the Brangelina of UK. They have four children and have been married for 12 years. Although there were rumors of David having an affair during their relationship, the Posh Spice said the news strengthened their marriage.
2. Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith: Married for 14 years, everyone’s favorite Hollywood couple made YourTango’s Top Ten Longest Hollywood Marriages list. What’s their secret to a successful marriage? The couple agreed that “divorce just can’t be an option.”

We aren’t the only one’s trying to hit the beach this season to escape the hot summer heat. Sizzling celebrity pairs can be spotted in Miami, Los Angeles and the Hamptons, soaking up some rays and having fun in the sand. If you’re lucky, you may spot your favorite duo while you’re taking an ocean dip. Here are a few of the celebrity beach bum couples that we’d love to join at the beach:

While Canadians rioted over losing the Stanley Cup last week, American girls continue to riot over losing Justin Bieber to Selena Gomez. UsMagazine.com reports that the 17-year-old pop sensation, who tied for Best International Video by a Canadian with Drake at the Much Music Awards, went up to receive his award from no other than his girlfriend. He then proceeded to fake a kiss, and instead, went for a hug. “Selena, nice to meet you. My name is Justin,” he said in a fake introduction. “You’re very beautiful. Maybe we can go out sometime!”

While appearing on Ellen this week, Selena Gomez had to defend some comments she made about her alleged boyfriend, Justin Bieber, according to People. Last September, when Ellen DeGeneres asked Gomez, 18, about Bieber, 17, she replied, “He’s little. He’s like my little brother.” This time around, DeGeneres put her on the spot and asked, “He’s like your little brother? … What do you have to say now?” The couple was spotted kissing in the Caribbean in January and a month later, they attended the Vanity Fair Oscar party together. However, the Disney star still refuses to confirm they’re dating, telling Ellen, “He’s just sweet.”

Disney star Selena Gomez has still not confirmed her relationship with Justin Bieber. In fact, when asked about the rumored romance on Late Night with David Letterman, she quickly changed the subject by saying, “It was like a little prom night, wasn’t it?” in reference to a picture of them together at the Vanity Fair Oscar party. According to People, however, David Letterman did manage to get some information out of the teen actress. She has known the singer for two years now and they met through their agents. “He’s been in my life for so long, and it’s just nice to have someone that understands what you’re going through,” she said.

Looks like Bieber Fever has struck again! According to UsMagazine.com, two teenage Bieber fans found an incredibly clever way to sneak into the pop star’s hotel room at the Hard Days and Night Hotel in Liverpool. According to a source, the two die hard fans apparently snuck in through a side entrance, stole housekeeping outfits and pretended to be part of the staff to get inside the Bieber’s room. Once inside, they started to pretend to polish a few things before taking photos of the singer’s belongings. Eventually, their girly giggles gave them away and the two were escorted off the premises. Needless to say, Justin Bieber was less than pleased and checked out of the hotel immediately afterwards.
Justin Bieber is taking his first steps into adulthood by growing facial hair. UsMagazine.com reports that the 17-year-old crooner announced via Twitter that he will not shave for a month and that he is “pumped” for his fans to see him with a ‘stache. Recently, Bieber lost 80,000 Twitter fans after cutting his trademark locks, trading in for a more current, adult look. Bieber, who recently admitted to dating fellow young Hollywood starlet Selena Gomez, is currently touring in Europe, away from his new girl.

When Selena Gomez went public with Justin Bieber, she knew she’d have to deal with her boyfriend’s crazy fans. But this time, the “Beliebers” may have gone too far. People reports that after Gomez, 18, was photographed with what looked like a fat lip, rumors started that she was punched by a Bieber fan. Paparazzi snapped the photo when Bieber and Gomez were leaving his 17th birthday party at Maggiano’s restaurant in L.A. Gomez’s rep insists that there is “absolutely no truth” to the rumors.

Photographic evidence of rumored couple Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez has officially been captured, according toUsMagazine.com. While the rest of the country tuned in to Super Bowl XLV, Gomez and Bieber kept a low profile in Santa Monica, California. The rumored duo were hanging out by the pier when a paparazzo snapped a photo of them holding hands. According to sources, the pair “giggled” at being caught on film. While the two have been trying to keep their relationship under wraps, photographs of them getting close on a yacht in the Caribbean were taken on New Year’s.

Did pancakes just become a code word for kiss? A couple weeks ago, cute crooner Justin Bieber and Disney Channel star Selena Gomez were spotted getting cuddly at IHOP. Now, the duo may have shared a smooch while vacationing in the Caribbean over the weekend, according to UsMagazine.com. Bieber and Gomez were seen ringing in the New Year on a private yacht. So far, they both deny they’re anything more than good friends.
What are ways to put relationship rumors to rest among friends?
Well, the MTV Video Music Awards have come and gone yet again, and the celebs in attendance this year didn’t disappoint! Some of the more notable duos walking the white carpet this year were Justin Bieber & Selena Gomez, Usher & Justin Bieber, Jersey Shore‘s Ronnie & Vinnie and Stephanie Pratt & Lo Bosworth, according to Hollywood Life. And, of course, there was the much-anticipated awards show participants Taylor Swift and Kanye West. After last year’s debacle where West barged on stage during Swift’s acceptance speech, he was on his best behavior. The two stars separately sang two brand new songs addressing last year’s event, “like a pair of dueling attorneys making closing statements in front of a jury,” according to Tris McCall at the New Jersey Star-Ledger.
