Learning your sweetheart’s favorite foods is something that takes a lot of trial and error – and it may even involve throwing your hard work in the trash. It’s very common and predictable when co-stars and celebrities start dating each other. They meet on the set of their new hit films and attend the same award ceremonies. The ladies of Generation X were some of the first to trade the domesticity of the housewife for the slacks of Corporate America. Powerful and confident women are sexy, but society hasn’t completely caught up with us yet, and it’s still uncommon for a female salary to outweigh that of her spouse’s. That’s where Hollywood comes in with a good message for once, as stunning starlets are throwing off the national average by earning more than their celebrity loves. Single ladies around the world can now rejoice! George Clooney has officially separated from his latest girlfriend, Elisabetta Canalis.
The couple has called off their relationship, leaving the dating pool wide open for Clooney, one of Hollywood’s most attractive men. If you’ve got your eye on this “sexiest man alive,” you’re not alone. But do you have what it takes to attract this notorious bachelor? Here are the top 10 qualities he looks for in a woman. See if you measure up!
1. Foreign beauty: If you’re from a country outside of the U.S., your odds of landing Clooney have significantly gone up. Celine Balitran (France), Mariella Frostup (Norway) and Canalis (Italy) are just a few of his “foreign affairs.”
2. Big name actress: One of the most successful men in Hollywood would surely be attracted to an equally successful actress. And rightfully so, since both understand the demands and stresses that come with the job. Clooney’s past women have resumes almost as impressive as his; just take a look at Julia Roberts, Charlize Theron, Kelly Preston and Renee Zellwegger. But don’t plan on starring in a movie alongside George to win his affection. It appears he doesn’t date his co-stars – at least, not during filming.
Larry Crowne (Tom Hanks) did what most people to do when trying to improve their lives from the ground-up … he went to college. Crowne was laid off from his big-box company, a job he had since he left the military. Now with bills to pay and lots of free time, he decides to enroll in classes at his local community college. While there, he befriends a group of scooter-riding outcasts who, like Crowne, are trying to better their positions in life. Meanwhile, he falls for his public speaking teacher, Mercedes Tainot (Julia Roberts), who has lost her passion for her marriage, career and everything else. Larry Crowne helps show the life of students in community college and the rising population of non-traditional college students. Plus, it shows that when someone’s lost everything, he or she may just find a new purpose.
We know how effective media is in shaping our perspective and even our values, including our self-image. We know that being bombarded with images of beautiful men and women molds our vision of attractiveness. As we mature, we know it’s fantasy, and that even Hollywood beauties don’t look that stunning without professional hair, make-up, wardrobe and lighting.
By now, you’ve probably seen the Dove video called “Evolution.” It shows how an attractive woman morphs into a fabulous knockout through professional hair, make-up, lighting, and yes, even Photoshop.
How do these unrealistic images affect your dating life?
