Reality shows focus on hooking up, finding a spouse and the wedding. Movies and books end at the beginning of a couples’ life together or as the relationship is ending in divorce. There is very little focus on the time married. Ben Affleck got in trouble at the Oscars when he publicly thanked his wife, Jennifer Garner, and the work their marriage has been for the last ten years. Wow, who wants to sign up for that? So, how does any couple keep their marriage healthy and happy over the years?
People confirms that Khloe Kardashian has been in touch with husband Lamar Odom since his alleged disappearance. Amid all of the drug reports, rumors of infidelity are also swirling around the couple. The duo hasn’t been photographed together since June 2.
What are some ways to help your partner through an addiction?
Rumors are swirling around about Lamar Odom’s alleged drug use. A source close to both Odom and Khloe Kardashian told People that the Keeping up with the Kardashians star has been struggling to help her husband. “It’s a really hard time for Khloe. She’s kept this secret for almost two years trying to save Lamar and their marriage,” the source said.
What are some ways to support your partner through substance abuse?
It looks like Kelly Clarkson and Brandon Blackstock‘s original wedding plans are a no-go. The two lovebirds are now planning to elope. “We are so busy that we finally just came to terms the other night and were like, ‘So, we change our minds and we want to elope.’” Clarkson told People. “We just got so overwhelmed by it — all the decisions.” The couple sent friends and family their engagement photo, thanked them for understanding and told them that they were, instead, going to marry with only a minister and Brandon’s two children present.
What are the advantages of eloping versus planning a wedding?
Joey Fatone — former N’SYNC member, Dancing with the Stars contestant, host, entertainer, and man of many hats — will be taking the stage tonight in a much-talked-about reunion with Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez, Lance Bass and Chris Kirkpatrick at MTV’s Video Music Awards tonight. Outside of this exciting performance, he’s stepping into the limelight with a new show for the Live Well Network, My Family Recipe Rocks. “It’s exciting. We actually go into people’s homes and watch normal, everyday people in everyday kitchens break down their recipes that they’ve passed down for many generations,” he shares. “I think it’s a really cool idea.” The star loves that he gets to meet so many families from different backgrounds across America who share their unique meal ideas with him.
Bethany Hamilton surfed her way down the aisle this weekend and tied the knot with Adam Dirks. According to UsMagazine.com, the boarding beauty announced via Twitter, “Today was the most beautiful, wonderful best day of my life! God is more than good. Excited to live life with my husband Adam Dirks!” The ceremony was held in Kauai, Hawaii incidentally the same state where she lost her arm in a tiger shark attack back in 2003. Hamilton dished that the two will not be having the typical tropical honeymoon and instead, “We’re going to get a cabin, it’s going to be cute.”
What are some advantages to a non-tropical honeymoon?
I have been with my wife for over 10 years. We have an amazing relationship that is full of love and understanding. We rarely argue, never fight and are genuinely each other’s best friends. The one thing that we have recently realized though, is that we don’t really communicate everything that is on our mind or bothering us about the other person. We are so busy keeping each other happy that we don’t make time to talk about the little bothers that can build up.
3 Things a Couple Can Do to Combat the Top Risk Factors and Save a MarriagePosted In: Exclusives, Guest Posts
How to overcome marital hardships. Photo: PH.OK / Bigstock.com

Marriage is a wonderful institution that affords couples significant psychological, emotional and financial benefits, in addition to being a commitment of their love to each other. Almost certainly, nobody enters into a marriage, expecting that it will end in divorce. However, over the years, certain risk factors that contribute to the likelihood of divorce have become increasingly clear. The following is a list of 5 of the top risk factors for divorce:
Kathy Hilton is no stranger to the spotlight. As a child actor, she played roles on notable programs such as Happy Days, Family Affair, The Rockford Files, and Bewitched. Her husband, Richard Hilton, is one of the most high-profile businessmen in the country, and her daughters, Paris and Nicky, have had their share of fame as well. But although you may not see Kathy on the big screen anymore, her life is busier than ever. She works with causes such as Erase MS, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and the Starlight Children’s Foundation. Plus, she designs the Kathy Hilton Collection — “a line of exquisite evening wear for women of all ages that includes an element of high society at affordable prices” — and she does this all while managing a family and keeping her marriage strong.
There are few other couples that have amassed more attention in 2013 than celebrity power couple Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck. It has been a memorable year for them with Affleck’s huge success and Oscar for his brilliant movie Argo. In the coming months, Garner will step back into the spotlight with the film adaptation of the popular book, Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day. With their stellar careers, three beautiful children and easy affection with each other, it seems like this Hollywood pair has it all.
I don’t know how or why or when it happened, but somewhere along the line I realized that I have an inordinate amount of female friends. It’s been a blessing and a curse really. The majority of my closest friends are female. I’m living proof that men and women really can be “just friends.”

The mother of three also discusses her partnership with Electrolux and their French Door Refrigerator with the Perfect Temp Drawer. Not only does she love their products, but she loves their philanthropic attitude as well. “They’ve been helping me raise money for ovarian research since I’ve been with them. In addition to the event in New York City, Electrolux is inviting Americans to visit www.livelovelux.com through August 22 to enter the Electrolux Perfect Temp Sweepstakes for the chance to win a French Door Refrigerator and a trip to a climate with the Perfect Temp (the Bahamas!). For every entry or share, Electrolux will donate $1 to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund (OCRF). The decision to have sex isn’t one that should be taken lightly, but it’s a personal choice. You may choose to wait until the love of your life comes along or you may not (just make sure you’re always safe). In Hollywood, many celebrities are quick to hop into bed with the next star they see standing next to them on the red carpet, but this isn’t true for every person who has the spotlight shining down on them. Some celebrities pledge abstinence because of their religious beliefs, while others hold out until marriage out of respect for themselves. Here are five couples who waited until their big day:

Imagine inviting strangers into your home to observe your first year of marriage and allowing millions of people to watch the honeymoon stage of your love life. Newly-minted reality star Blair Late can tell you a thing or two about that experience – all good things. Late and his spouse Jeff Pedersen were all for having cameras follow them around as they transitioned into married life.

They soon got a call from the network, and after an extensive three-month background check, they agreed to be part of the show.

Here’s a piece of folk wisdom nearly every newlywed has heard: “If you can survive the wedding, surviving the marriage will be a piece of cake!” Weddings are indeed stressful because they involve a massive amount of planning, cooperating/compromising with your spouse-to-be, the convergence of diverse family and friends, decisions about religion and family traditions, and of course, lots of money.

Celebrities seem to always be in and out of marriage faster than the rest of us. Take Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries, for example. The couple dated for a mere six months before deciding they were ready to tie the knot. Then lo and behold, 72 days later, the story of their split hit newsstands everywhere. A 72-day marriage is not something you hear about everyday, but in Hollywood, short-term marriages happen all the time.
