Need a fun date idea for this weekend?  Cupid’s got you covered!  Even while everyone’s celebrating independence, there are still plenty of places to couple up.  Fourth of July weekend is full of gatherings and festivities that make it easy to have fun with friends and light some sparklers with a new special someone.

The Fourth of July is a great time to catch a summer movie.  This year the buzz is centered around The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.  But there’s no reason to stay inside when the weather is so nice.  Grab a blanket and head to see a movie in the park or at a drive in.

It goes without saying that the weekend is also full of barbecues and parties, and while a family gathering might not be the best place to find a mate, hosting your own festivities could be just the way to do it.  Food and drinks always make for a good time.  Invite other singles over and ask everyone to bring a platonic date.  Set off your own fireworks for finding love.

In the Chicagoland area?  Check out the Movies in the Park series at the city parks.
